Skittish orange cat who likes to shed. After brushing him for a few minutes, I powered it on on low. He was freaked out at first, but let me keep brushing him, and I got quite a ball of fluff without a giant mess!
This has been a game changer versus V1 (similar to furminator) that came with the unit. The hair from my golden's has been coming off in droves and the matts have basically subsided. I'm very happy with this dematting rake. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is the mechanism to release the hair from the rake isn't as efficient as the previous model and takes 3-5 pushes for the hair to be taken by vacuum.
by being up front abought the size of the unit I bought the the regular one and it is not neer bigrnoughf to hols even a part of the volum of fur I get off my GSD. When i look at bigger ones ther is no way to credit or even get a break, and all the tools I have are included I would think you would at least just sell the main unit with out all the extras that I all ready have
Fantastic,
This is the only rake tool available for a vacuum. I ordered it in the USA, picked it up and brought it home in Montreal, cause there's nothing like the Furme Rake. I had to tweak it a little bit to make it fit a OneIsall vacuum. The furminator like groom tool are too intense for your dog fur. A rake is the way to go !
I only used it on one of my dogs and it seemed to pull too hard. I changed over to another brush that seemed to work better. I haven’t used it on my golden retriever yet which will tell the tale.
Any Bernese Mountain Dog owner should get one. Our just lay there and lets us brush him. The undercoat rake removes so much hair you could knit a small sweater for a small child.
Using on the coat of arms double doodle (goldendoodle/labradoodle). It has lots of curls and the move multiple directions. She has a white coat so I keep it a bit longer to protect from sun damage to her skin. This is the first tool she will actually let me comb through her coat on a frequent basis and hopefully it will become a daily comfort.
I use it mostly without the vacumn at this point but it makes for easy clean up and pulls the deep under coat off without discomfort and leaves her smooth and fluffy
We have 2 Goldendoodles, one med size and her baby a mini.
Their fur is very tight thick curls and it pull on them when I use it. Perhaps, I’m using it wrong, however, I looked on your site and on your tube and there is no instructions for a rake brush.
When using the plastic guides, the number on them. does that indicate how much hair you are taking off. Example, I’ve been using the 1/2 because I want them short and it is not taking much hair off. Thank you Diana
I have the furme professional plus version and I absolutely LOVE this system. I have both a long haired german shepherd husky mix and a short haired pit hound mix, so I have almost every attachment option available. The rake is most useful for my husky during his heavy shed and we LOVE IT! I use the system almost daily on both my boys and they get compliments at every vet and grooming visit on their coats. I have no idea how we made it this long without one of these, but no more.
I wish you had a straight rake, not just the curved on. But I can make do. I have Tervurens so there is a lot to groom. But the furme is do a good job.
We have a long haired Maine Coon, whose fur is wispy yet dense and long. It flies everywhere when brushed via traditional means. I purchased a Furme to hopefully combat that issue, and this is the only brush head that works on our feline. It can penetrate the dense fur while still combing through it without tugging on it excessively, which our cat is very sensitive to. The blades remove undercoat and the vacuum sucks it away before it ever has the chance to get airborne, which is amazing.
I have a manual brush that works well on my Great Pyrenees and it's very similar to this tool. However, this tool only gets hung up in his fur so that's a bummer. I do love the FurMe though!!
One of my 3 Furry Family Members is a 102 pound Malamute. This FurMe attachment is a great time (and money) saver. I was taking her to the Groomers 1 or 2 times a month for a 30 minute brush-out. I still need to take her in for a de-shed & shampoo, twice a year. This De-Matting tool works so well, it was a very good purchase.
We have a Great Pyranees/Anatolian Shepard mix so she has a thick undercoat! We use this tool on her once a week to keep her nice and groomed at home! It works wonders and I couldn't be more grateful for it! Before the fur was everywhere!
haven't been able to use it yet because my 2 Aussie girls won't let me groom them if the machine is on. I've only been able to brush them with the brush attachment.....no machine....no hose ....rather disappointing!
I just got tired of paying $125-$135 to have my dog groomed every 2 to 3 months
I bought the furMe, and I have done nothing but save money, and my dogs love being groomed by the furMe
I suggest anybody who has a dog that sheds
Get a furMe!!
This has become my favorite tool for my golden retrievers. The rake gets down to the skin without scraping or scratching. The curve helps to remove tangles before mats can set in.
We have a Golden Retriever and with the furme pro it's a game changer. We brush him every other day and goes too groomer every 4 weeks.his coat stays nice and shiny with no knots. Furme is a must have.
I have two Germain Shepherds and a miniature Golden Retriever. So you can imagine the amount of hair in our house. The furme is a God send and now I can tell when I vacuum, the hair has considerably been reduced. I still vacuum them almost every day and they all love it. I hold the brush up and say “who wants to go first “ and they all come running. It’s really heart warming to give them something they love.
